Japan - Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) announced it will launch a new model from Toyota Yaris on February 10, 2020. New models of the new Yaris will be available at Netz dealerships, as well as Toyota Mobility Tokyo Inc., and Toyota Nishi Tokyo Corolla Co., Ltd, starting February 20, 2020. Toyota is targeting sales of 7,800 units per month specifically for the Japanese market. This model will be produced at the Iwate Plant.
The latest Yaris is claimed to be the first model to adopt the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform for compact cars. Yaris is claimed to have a lighter body weight and more rigid (rigid) with a low center of gravity compared to the previous model.
The latest Yaris in Japan offers three drive options namely the 1.0L engine. 1.5L and 1.5L hybrid. In the latest hybrid system, the car is based on a 1.5-liter inline Dynamic Force Engine three-cylinder engine. Integrating front drive performance and claimed fuel efficiency of 36 kilometers per liter (according to the World Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle / WLTC). The new Yaris is also claimed to be the first Toyota compact car to feature an E-Four four-wheel drive system.
The latest Yaris with a petrol engine is equipped with the latest 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine, Dynamic Force Engine, with a choice of 6-speed manual transmission, or Direct Shift-CVT with 2WD or 4WD settings. On the Yaris 'B Segment' with a 1.0 liter engine, CVT transmission options are given and are more compact.
Toyota claims the latest Yaris is equipped with a variety of sophisticated and comfortable functions that have been developed in recent years. Among them is Yaris being the first model to be equipped with Toyota Teammate Advanced Park (including the Panoramic View Monitor function).
Yaris also has a new generation of Toyota Safety Sense sophisticated parking support system. This system is able to detect cars that go when turning right at an intersection, and detect pedestrians who cross the road when turning right or left.
This system is also claimed to be able to make the driver easier to enter and remove the vehicle from the parking location. The audio system on the monitor screen that can be connected to a smartphone is also installed in all classes as a standard device.
